It took 36 hours to fly to Joburg from San Francisco, including a long layover in Frankfurt. Unfortunately, when we got to Tambo airport, Delta Cab had missplaced our reservation and there was noone there to meet us. However, the person at the information counter in Joburg was extremely helpful, contacting our cab company to get them to send a driver. I've never seen that kind of travel assistance at other international airports. It was really great!
